Stephen Keshi’s agent, Tim Sukazi, has confirmed that his client is close to signing for a South African club.
Sukazi, who runs Quality Sports Agency, however refused to name the clubs interested in Keshi. But it is believed that the former Super Eagles handler and Bidvest Wits coach, Gavin Hunt, are eyeing the Orlando Pirates job.
Eric Tinkler is set the quit the Pirates job, after he failed to win the Nedbank Cup final and chairman, Irvin Khoza, is actively seeking his replacement.
“Yes there are clubs that are interested in him (Keshi) in the Premier Soccer League,” Sukazi said.
“Unfortunately I cannot divulge who are those clubs and that can spoil the negotiations but I can tell you there are offers for him.
“Look, I cannot say he’s still in the country because he never came in the first place – those reports were false.
“He’s very keen to work in the country because the PSL is one of the biggest leagues in the continent.”
