Keshi not bothered Pitroipa will face Nigeria, says Emenike not 100% fit

Ahead of the AFCON final tomorrow, Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi, has said that he does not have special tactics to handle Burkina Faso‘s key man, Jonathan Pitroipa.

The playmaker was harshly dismissed in the semi-final game against Ghana, but CAF has rescinded the decision, which means he will face Nigeria tomorrow.

“I applaud CAF‘s decision. The video showed he didn’t deserve the red card. It’s also good for football that he’s back,” Keshi said.

“It doesn’t change my game plan in anyway whether Pitroipa plays or not. He deserves a chance to play in a final. I’m happy for him.”

Keshi also said it was an advantage that Nigeria had played the Stallions before and so have an idea what to expect.

“It’s beneficial that we’ve played them before. But we will approach them with determination to win.”

On the availability of his key striker, Emmanuel Emenike, he said: “He’s not 100% but he’s improved. We’ll know by tomorrow. If he’s not going to be available, we’ll know how to handle it.”
