Super Eagles handler Stephen Keshi, has hinted the team is likely to play their next Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, at the National Stadium in Abuja.

The African champions were beaten for the first time in Calabar this month, after they fell 3-2 to Congo. One of the major talking points after the match, was the poor state of the pitch at the U.J Esuene Stadium.

Keshi has now given thumbs up to the Abuja Stadium, ahead of the next round of games.

“The stadium is good to go,” Keshi said on Tuesday, after inspecting facilities.

“The pitch is good. If it were possible, we will play our next game against Sudan here.

“I have seen it, it’s good for both training and match. But we will see how it goes.”

Nigeria will travel to play Sudan on October 10, before hosting the return leg four days later.

Congo currently leads Group A with six points. South Africa are second with four points, while the Eagles only have one point.
