In an interview with Robert Marawa on South Africa radio station, Metro FM, Stephen Keshi confirmed he sent in his resignation after last night’s celebrations.

“I did what I feel is right by resigning,” he told Marawa.

“I gave the NFF a letter last night [Sunday] after the celebrations.”

A source close to the ministry, has now confirmed the 51-year-old’s departure, stating that what is left, is an official confirmation.’

“It appears the story is true, all we are waiting for is an official statement,” the source close to the sports ministry said.

A tweet from Ohimai Amaize, an aide to the Minister of Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi, also fanned the flames. He wrote: “I shall be updating us on the latest developments on the purported Keshi resignation once I get an official statement from South Africa,” after categorically denying Keshi had resigned.
