Local government Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State have said the embattled Chairman of the party, Mr. Isaac Kekemeke was sacked in line with the constitution of the party.
They said it was necessary for the embattled Chairman of the party to vacate the seat of leadership so as to allow the party move forward.
But, the embattled Chairman has described the Chairmen as jokers, saying miscreants have hijacked the party secretariat.
Kekemeke who has petitioned the State Commissioner of Police, Hilda Harrison, alleged that hoodlums have invaded the state party secretariat.
Kekemeke in the petition, specifically accused three members of the party in the state of forcefully taking over the Secretariat, chasing out the staff of the Secretariat.
He listed the three members to include the Party’s Publicity Secretary, Abayomi Adesanya, Saka Yusuff Ogunleye and Rasheed Badmus.
The local government chairmen said after many intervention on ways to move the party forward, Kekemeke remained adamant and refused to allow activities in the party.
Chairman of the APC in Akoko South West, Mr. Daudu Boladale who spoke on behalf of the other chairmen said the party Chairmen in the local government had suffered so much for the party than to allow someone hold them to ransom.
He alleged that Kekemeke allowed his personal interest to override the interest of the party, saying his roles during the last election was very disappointing.
The chairmen noted that they were in support of the vote of no confidence passed on Kekemeke.
Besides, they disclosed that they were ready to furnish the state secretariat of the party with names of those who engaged in anti-party activities during the last election.
“From the beginning of this struggle, the local government chairmen, led by our able dean has not been found wanting
“We started this struggle and we can not allow one man to make nonsense of what we have achieved so far
“We have been to Kekemeke on several occasions, we pleaded with him to let go of his ego and let the party move forward but he refused
“Well, we collectively decided that we should deal with the situation in line with constitution of out part “. Bolakale said.
Meanwhile, the three-man fact finding panel of the party set up to investigate the embattled Chairman has said, Kekemeke will appear before it on Friday to defend himself over series of allegations against him.
Secretary of the panel, Mr. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye said the panel will make the proceedings of its activities public.
