Kebbi is most peaceful state in Nigeria’s history – Okorocha

Governor of Imo State and chairman, Progressive Governors Forum, Rochas Okorocha, has identified Kebbi as the “most peaceful state in the history of Nigeria.’’

The governor spoke on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi, when he led members of the Progressive governors on a courtesy visit to the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Bashir.

He said, “Kebbi State has a track record of being a peaceful state since its creation.”

Okorocha further commended the state governor Abubakar Bagudu and the people of the state for boosting the production of rice and wheat.

He also said he was satisfied that Kebbi had placed Nigeria’s name on the map of countries in the world producing rice.

He disclosed that members of the forum were in the state to hold their meeting billed to commence on Tuesday.

Okorocha said the APC governors’ meeting would deliberate on the various challenges facing the country and seek ways of assisting the Federal Government to come out with policies that would have positive impact on the lives of Nigerians.
