The Kebbi State Government has released N1 billion for the payment of pension arrears to all categories of pensioners. This is contained in a statement issued by Alhaji Abubakar Dakingari, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.
Dakingari said the money was released to the pension board for disbursement to the beneficiaries.
The chief press secretary said the release of the money for pensioners was in fulfilment of the governor’s campaign promise.
He said Gov. Atiku Bagudu was determined to fulfil his electioneering promises especially on provision of social amenities in all nooks and crannies in the state.
Dakingari urged the public to be patient with the governor as he strives to deliver dividends of democracy to the populace.
He said Bagudu also assured parents, guardians and students that payment of scholarship for students in tertiary institutions within and outside the country would commence this month.
