Katsina State chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has boasted that it will defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government in 2019.
APGA said APC was engaging in “unpopular policies and programmes”.
The APGA national financial secretary, Ibrahim Garba Carefor, told Daily Trust, that the APC government in Katsina was too slow in bringing development to both urban and rural areas.
The official insisted that APGA was not regional party but one accepted across the country.
“Our party will no longer accept what has been happening within the electoral umpire, where elections are rigged in favour of the ruling party.
“The APC government in Katsina has an unpopular strategy, agricultural development amongst many others”, he said.
He said his party had a clear-cut manifesto that addressed the issues of women, youth, infrastructural and community development unlike other political parties.
Carefor, however, said the party was not worried about defections, saying new members were also entering APGA.
