Kashamu accuses Mu’azu of planning to impose Bankole as Ogun Guber candidate

The chairman, organisation and mobilisation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West, Buruji Kashamu, has warned the national chairman of the party, Adamu Mu’azu and the national organising secretary, Abubakar Mustapha, to stay clear of Ogun State PDP.

According to him, the crisis in the Ogun State chapter of the party may pave the way for the All Progressives Congress (APC), South West, in the 2015 polls, if not well-managed.

Speaking yesterday at a press briefing in Abeokuta, the state capital, Kashamu accused them of plotting to impose the former Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Dimeji Bankole, on the party as its gubernatorial candidate for Ogun State.

“They ( Mu’azu and Mustapha) would weaken the party with internal squabbles and give way for the APC to win in not just Ogun State but elsewhere in the South West.”

He further warned that the discreet plan to cancel the House of Assembly primaries held in the state would weaken the party.

Kashamu said Mu’azu and his supporters had planned to secure an ex parte order against the conduct of the primaries.

“But because we have our eyes and ears everywhere, we quickly swung into action by asking our lawyers to look into the matter.

“We have attached the letter by our counsel, Dr. Alex Iziyon (SAN), to the PDP Headquarters, Abuja.

“We wish to warn that any attempt to change the authentic delegates list (the CTC of which we have obtained from INEC and PDP National Headquarters) would result to serious litigation and it would be clear that the National Chairman and the National Organising Secretary do not want us to win in Ogun State”.
