Former captain of the Super Eagles, Nwankwo Kanu, has criticized the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), stating that the Amaju Pinnick-led board has failed the country.
Kanu was speaking in an interview with BBC, about the Eagles’ failure to qualify for next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon, after a 1-0 loss to Egypt in Alexandria.
“What is happening with Nigerian football is that the top management is not what it is supposed to be so what is below is being affected,” he said.
He also said there needs to be a change in the NFF, for Nigeria to return to its glory days.
“When the head is not right, even your body won’t be right,” the former Arsenal man added.
