Kante admits it will be tough season for Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder, N’Golo Kante believes the Blues played well yesterday and this will be a tough season since a lot of teams have strengthened.

The 26-year-old says the team are fully focused on next Saturday’s opening Premier League game against Burnley.

The Blues were beaten on penalties by Arsenal in yesterday’s Community Shield at Wembley.

“I thought we played well,” said Kante, who partnered Cesc Fabregas in the Chelsea midfield.

“We scored the first goal and we were close to winning. After Pedro’s red card they scored and it became more difficult for us,” he said.

“In the end they won on penalties, but when it’s like that you can win or you can lose.”

Kante enjoyed a wonderful first season at Stamford Bridge, winning the Premier League title as well as the PFA and FWA Player of the Year awards.

“It’s going to be tough because a lot of teams have strengthened, which makes it more difficult,’ he said, ‘the season starts next weekend and we have to be ready.”

He admits defending our crown won’t be easy, but the Frenchman isn’t looking any further than the game against Sean Dyche’s side at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
