After the recent donation of 52 trucks of relief materials to Niger Republic flood victims, the Kano State government yesterday said it has concluded arrangements in alliance with Niger Republic to build a mega secondary school with hostels in Niger capital, Niamey.
In a statement by the Director of Press to the governor, Halilu Ibrahim Dantiye, it was disclosed that Kano State will build hostels, dining hall and other facilities, while the Nigerien government will construct classrooms and administrative blocks.
He described the proposed project as part of the bi-lateral agreement signed by both parties some months ago.
He however noted that the state government has set aside a substantial amount for the project, adding that the french speaking country has been designated for qualified teaching staff and facilities for the school.
Dantiye assured that the school will accommodate over 1,000 Nigerien and Kano students, who will studying French in an effort to improve multicultural relations .
While reacting to this development, the head of the Nigerien delegation, Alhaji Muhammadou Saidou, said the proposed school project, will go a long way in consolidating Nigeria-Niger relationship
