Kano Pillars captain, Gambo Mohammed, is still in hospital, after he suffered a head injury in a Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Match Day 12 clash against Rivers United in Port Harcourt on Sunday.

Gambo went off as early as the 8th minute of the match, after a clash of heads with Rivers United striker, Wilson Andoh.

He was rushed to the Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital in Port Harcourt and Vincent Wachukwu, one of the two medical doctors attached to the home team, has spoken more about the incident.

“It was a serious injury; a rupture of the tympanic membrane,” he told SuperSport.

“It occasioned dizziness and continuous bleeding in his left ear and we had to act fast.

“At no stage was he unconscious but bleeding so we had to refer him for further examination at the BMH where he was received treatment at the accident and emergency unit.

“He spent the (Sunday) night at the VIP ward of the hospital and received top attention from the doctors.”
