Kano State Hisbah Board on Wednesday said it received no fewer than 98,217 cases last year.
Public Relations Officer of the board, Malam Umar Yahaya who said this in a statment issued in Kano noted that the cases covered prostitution, matrimonial disputes and quarrels between neighbours.
Yahya said “The disputes relate to debts, disagreements among neighbours, prostitution, breastfeeding as well as consumption of alcohol, among others”.
He said that the board was committed to its mandate of ridding the society of social ills, adding that efforts will be intensified to restore moral sanity in the state.
Yahya declared that the cases had increased compared to the 96,323 cases recorded in 2016.
He then urged members of the public to support the efforts of the board at ensuring a society free of social ills.
