Following the recent fire inferno that engulfed a popular market in Kano, Speaker of the House of Representative, Hon Yakubu Dogara has appealed to traders across the country to come up with self-preventive technique to assist the government in combating disasters of such nature.
Dogara, in a statement by his spokesman, Yakubu Fagge, described fire outbreak as a very dangerous disaster that has no territorial boundary.
Urging the citizens of Kano to be proactive in dealing with fire outbreak so as to forestall such incident, Dogara appealed to Kano citizens to accept the inferno as a ‘fate from God’.
He called on the people to be godly in all their affairs, stressing that “it is only through total submission to God, that disasters are reduced to minimal.
It would be recalled that the Sabon-Gari market in the ancient city was, at about 10 pm on Friday, up in flames following a fire outbreak that destroyed shops and goods worth millions of Naira.
