The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has issued Certificates of Return to the Kano State Governor-elect Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The Commission also issued Certificate of Return to Ganduje’s deputy, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and 27 elected members of the state House of Assembly.
INEC’s national commissioner in charge of Kano, Katsina and Jigawa states, Engr. Abubakar Nahuche while presenting the certificates to elected officers in Kano on Wednesday, called for the spirit of sportsmanship among the political class in the country.
Nahuche urged politicians to eschew a do or die politics.
He congratulated the winners and stated that the outcome of the election was a true reflection of democracy.
The INEC Commissioner insisted that Nigerian democracy had significantly developed.
