Kano council boss escapes assassination

It was a narrow escape for the Interim Management Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, Alhaji Kambai Sumaila, who was attacked by gunmen at the state capital, Kano in the early hours of Tuesday.

Confirming the incident, the Kano state Police spokesperson, Malam Magaji Majiya, said Alhaji Sumaila sustained different degrees of injuries while his driver died on the spot.

Majiya said investigation is ongoing regarding the shooting.
