Kajuru killings: Fulani coalition tasks Kaduna, federal govts

A coalition of Fulani organizations has called for the setting up of an independent panel of investigation by the Federal and Kaduna state governments to unravel the mystery of missing dead bodies or burnt to aches in the recent Kajuru crisis in Kaduna state.

The organizations include: Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, Miyetti Allah Kautal Gore Fulani Socio cultural Association, Mobgal Culberson Development Association, Fan Allah Fulani Development Association and Fulbe Global Development Initiative.

Briefing newsman in Kaduna on Friday, the spokesman of the organizations, Engr. Saleh Alhassan stated that the security agencies need to commence the process of detailed documentation of the violence, including the collection of exhibits and all relevant information to isolate the perpetrators of the violence, arrest and prosecute them for genocide, stressing that their action was the total extermination of the affected families.

The coalition said, “We call on all Nigerians to condemn the violence, and support the peace-loving people to embrace the spirit of brotherhood and peaceful and harmonious coexistence.

“The Kaduna State Government, the Federal Government, humanitarian organisations and other spirited individuals to come to the aid of the victims so as to provide relief and succor and to help them to quickly recover from the shocks and trauma.”

The group called on the state and Federal governments to enhance security vigilance so as to guarantee the safety of all Nigerians in every nook and cranny of the nation.

“We call on Fulani pastoralists in the affected areas and throughout the State to remain peaceful and to continue to have faith in the capacity of government to address their plight,” the statement added.
