Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has established eight camps for over 30,000 Internal Displaced Persons in the metropolis, the Executive Secretary, Hon Ezekiel Baba- Karik has said.
Baba- Karik stated this while briefing journalists in his office after a third round tour to the flooded communities in Kaduna metropolis.
The Executive Secretary said stakeholders such as- Red Cross Society, NEMA, NSCDC, the Police and other volunteers have registered many people at the camps.
He said the camps are located in Abubakar Kigo road Primary School, Rafin Guza Primary School, LEA Primary School Zangon Road in Tudun Wada, LEA Primary School Auguwan Rimi Low Cost.
Others are: Gamji Shooting Range Multi-purpose Hall, Government Secondary School ,Nasarawa, and LEA Primary School, Unguwar Muazu.
He said one of their stakeholders, NEMA, has donated relief materials such as food and mattresses to assuage the sufferings of the victims.
The SEMA Executive Secretary, who said security was very paramount in the exercise, said police and other security agencies were positioned at the camps.
While sympathizing with those who lost property and other valuables, Baba urged the people to see it as an act of God and appealed to victims who stakeholders could not evacuate to report to the nearest camp for prompt assistance.
