To curb the prevailing security challenges confronting Kaduna State, Governor Nasiru Ahmed El-Rufai has reiterated the need for additional 7,000 police personnel in the state.
He made the request when the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase commissioned 107 patrol vehicles and 230 bullet proof vests meant to enhance the operation of police and other security operatives in the state. Governor El-Rufai said the commissioning of the patrol vehicles was a fulfillment of his campaign promises of making the state crime free through the provision of the necessary equipment meant to combat any challenge posed by unscrupulous elements in the society.
The IG commended the effort of the state government and assured that the commissioning of the vehicles and the bullet proof vests would enhance the operation of the security personnel in the state.
Most security personnel who spoke with our correspondent commended the step taken by the state government to boost the morale of the security personnel, stressing that it would go a long way in ensuring full coverage of the state in every nook and cranny and force criminal elements out of the state.
