Kaduna killings: Ahmad Gumi breaks silence on endless religious crisis

Renowned Islamic Scholar, Dr Ahmad Gumi, has called on Muslims and Christians to live in peace and harmony with one another.

The Islamic scholar was reacting to the crisis witnessed in Kaduna State this week.

Gumi told Daily Trust that no nation will progress without peace.

DAILY POST reports that several persons were during the week killed and several houses set ablaze in a renewed clash between Christians and Muslims in the state.

The crisis followed the murder of the Paramount ruler of Adara Chiefdom, Agwom Adara, His Royal Highness, Maiwada Raphael Galadima.

Report said his lifeless body was found in a village close to Kaduna town

Speaking on the lingering crisis for the first time, the Islamic cleric said “My appeal to people is that we need to stay peacefully among ourselves because without peace there can be no progress.

“Without peace we will continue in this cycle of poverty and ignorance. So I’m calling on both Muslims and Christians to live peacefully among themselves”.

Meanwhile, the State Government on Friday re-imposed 24 hour curfew within the state metropolis following tension among residents.
