A former governorship aspirant in Kaduna State on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Mohammed Sani Bello, has called on the citizens to utilize the general elections to elect only leaders that are capable of meting justice and fairness to all in order to curb the incessant killings in the state.
Dr. Muhammad Sani Bello, who is the Mainan Zazzau, in a statement entitled ‘Let’s End the Bloodletting, said, “Good governance is the only guarantor of sustainable peace and harmonious coexistence among people. Such needless breakdown of law and order is a compelling reason for us in Kaduna State and indeed Nigeria as a whole to utilize the upcoming general elections and empower only those capable of meting justice and fairness to all.”
Commiserating with families that lost their beloved ones in the recent crisis in Kasuwar Magani and parts of Kaduna metropolis, Dr Bello noted, “It is with a heavy heart and bitter tears that I commiserate with our brothers and sisters in Kasuwar Magani, Kajuru local government area council of Kaduna State, over the unfortunate communal clash that left almost 60 people dead and dozens maimed since Thursday, 18th October 2018.
“Equally sorrowful is the spillover of the clashes into Kaduna South, Chikun, Kaduna North and Igabi Local Government Area Councils of the state.
“I wish to especially condole His Royal Highness, Chief Maiwada Galadima, JP, the Paramount Ruler of Adara Chiefdom and the families and friends of all those who lost their lives, limbs and properties during the catastrophic incidence.
“May the souls of the departed be granted eternal repose and the injuries and losses of the other victims be healed and recovered respectively.
“I salute our security services for their timely intervention and apprehension of some suspects behind the mayhem. Abductors of the Paramount Ruler and members of his family must also be apprehended and brought to justice as soon as possible.
“This sad and senseless scenario is what we must all resolve to forestall in order to attain real progress for the benefit of all the people.
“This is the time to tell ourselves that there have been enough killings in our hitherto peaceful communities over the years and even one more casualty the next time is too many.”
