The Governor-elect of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, has proffered solution to the constant violence erupting in the state, saying, the state could attain peace if the people avoid religious intolerance and prejudice.
In a statement issued by his spokesman, Samuel Aruwan, El-Rufai said he was determined to work with all residents of the state, irrespective of religious, ethnic or party affiliation. “Our good people of Kaduna State, we are again grateful for the mandate you gave us on April 11, 2015. I am begging you in the name of Almighty God to live in peace and work together for a new Kaduna State. Let us all strategize for a better state where peace, unity and development would abound by sowing positive seeds in the minds of our children. Bigots have continued to fuel violence in the state. I will continue to say it, those deceiving our citizens through religion and ethnicity don’t mean well; they are dangerous and they retard our progress as a people bound together by God. We must mobilize our people to stand up for the common good,” he said.
