The ongoing sacking spree in the nation’s petroleum sector continued Thursday, with the sacking of the Managing Director of the Pipelines and Product Marketing Company, PPMC, Prince Haruna Momoh, by the newly appointed Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Dr.Emmanuel Ibe Kachukwu.
Momoh’s sack brings to nine the number of top management staff of the corporation that have been fired in the last forty-eight hours.
Before Momoh’s appointment as the Managing Director of the company in 2011, he had a stint as Group General Manager and Senior Technical Assistant to the Hon. Minister of Petroleum resources.
Momoh had his Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of Benin, his MBA in Information Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, and his Barrister at Law at the Nigeria Law School, Lagos.
He worked as in-house Counsel to the NNPC for Eleme Petrochemical Complex Project from 1988 to 1996. From there, he became a legal advisor to Eleme Petrochemicals Company Limited (EPCL) and later Company Secretary.
From 2005-2006 Momoh moved to the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company Limited where he continued his role as Company Secretary and Legal Advisor.
He served as Company Secretary of PPMC from 2006-2010 and a year later, he took over as the Managing Director of PPMC.
