Juventus insist Allegri won’t leave for Arsenal

Juventus general manager, Giuseppe Marotta, has laughed off reports linking coach Massimiliano Allegri with a switch to Arsenal and says there is no reason for him to leave.

Allegri has emerged as one of the favourites to replace Arsene Wenger in the summer, if the Frenchman decides to step down after the season.

Wenger’s contract will expire in 2018, but some fans have been calling for him to leave the club, after he has failed to win the Premier League title since 2004.

When asked whether Allegri could leave, Marotta made it clear that they still had a contract with the 67-year-old.

“Aside from the fact we have a contract with Allegri, I think there are still great targets we need to achieve together and our rapport is very good,” he said, as quoted by Mediaset.

“There is no reason for him to leave Juventus, as there is great mutual admiration and affection.”

Allegri has won two Serie A titles since taking over at Juve in 2014.
