Juventus express interest in signing Donnarumma

Juventus general manager, Gianluigi Donnarumma, has said the club has the duty to “examine every opportunity” surrounding the availability of AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Donnarumma, who one year left on his current contract, has informed Milan that he will not be signing a new deal with the club.

This has alerted top European clubs and the chase is on for the 18-year-old goalkeeper.

“Could Juve sign him? It’s clear that Juve have the right to examine every opportunity. When a player is on the market we have a duty to try.

“Are we in for him? At the moment, no… He’s a talent, then we have to distinguish between a talent and a champion,” Marotta told Corriere della Sera.

Marotta admitted to having sympathy with Milan’s position and added it is “increasingly difficult” for clubs to handle these situations.

With Gianluigi Buffon set to retire after next year’s World Cup, Donnarumma could fill his boots in Turin.
