JUSUN suspends strike

The Nasarawa State chapter of Judicial Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), has suspended its prolonged strike which commenced on Feb.16.

The union embarked on the strike to press home its demands for implementation of promotion, annual increment, among others.

State JUSUN Chairman, Jimoh Musa, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lafia on Thursday, that the suspension followed an agreement reached between the union the state government.

He called on its members to resume work immediately while appealing to the state government to be sincere in order to avoid any industrial disharmony in future.

He said the decision to call off strike was taken after a meeting with state government and attended by the Head of Service, representatives of the court and the union.

“The union has suspended the strike, but if after the window period of one month nothing is done, the members will continue with the strike.’’ Musa said

Musa added that the committee which would have representatives of the union would advise the government on ways to address the problems.
