Justice Dimgba appears before lawmakers, declines comment on DSS raid

One of the Judges whose residence was raided by the operatives of the Department of State Security (DSS), Justice Nnamdi Dimgba has appeared before the Adhoc Committee put in place by the House of Representatives to conduct investigation into the actions of the DSS.

Justice Dimgba, a Judge of the Federal High Court, Abuja, however refused to comment on the issues raised in a memo sent to him.

“It is indeed true that my house was raided by the DSS. I also confirm that it is part of the issues that I have with the DSS.

“But I want to say for now that the matter is currently a subject of investigation at the National Judicial Council (NJC). For that reason I may not say anything further”, the Judge said.

Meanwhile, the Judge has requested the panel to update him and allow to respond in writing, should the DSS mentioned his name relating to any allegation at the course of its presentation.

He said “I would however like to say that if there is any allegation or anything in which the my name was mentioned during the presentation of the DSS, please you may kindly notify me, so I can react to it through writing”.

Responding, the Chairman of the Adhoc Committee, Hon. Garba Datti Mohammed assured the Judge that he would keep him abreast on any issue that would demand his attention, while the DSS would do its presentation on Thursday.
