Juan Mata has been named Chelsea’s Players’ Player of the Year for the current season.
The 25-year-old’s spectacular form this campaign, which has seen him score 19 times and provide 28 assists, ensured that he landed the award for the second year running.
“I want to say thank you to all of my team-mates,” he told the audience at the event.
“I feel very proud to play for a team like Chelsea with all these amazing players, so it’s a thank-you to them.
“We have 24 or 25 top players and any one of them could have been the winner.”
Nathan Ake was adjudged as the Young Player of the Year, while Oscar’s stunner against Juventus in the Champions League, won Goal of the season.
