The Joint Military Task Force yesterday uncovered a bomb-manufacturing factory in the turbulent town of Mubi, Adamawa State.
The factory was discovered in a rice farm of the ancient city.
While conducting journalists round the premises of the building housing the bomb factory on Friday, the Brigade Commander, 23 Armoured Brigade, Nigerian Army Yola, Brigadier- General John Nwaoga said the factory was uncovered following the apprehension of one Mohammed Ibrahim at a road block in the area.
Nwaoga said that Ibrahim was arrested at a checkpoint with over N3 million and 200 dollars and a pistol in his Honda salon car with a Lagos registration number, CF 26 SMK.
The army boss said, they arrested Ibrahim and his subsequent grilling led security operatives to discover the building along the Mubi – Maiha road, a suburb of the town.
He noted that items discovered in the building include: police uniforms, locally made grenades, charms, bags of fertilizers, gas cylinders, thousands of ready made cans of Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs, remote control devices of different makes, car batteries and various sizes of wires. among other dangerous items.
The Brigadier- General lamented that the culprits are not helping Nigerians to live in peace and harmony as a nation.
He asserted that the military is battle-ready to confront any terrorist, adding that it could be easily achieved while harmonising efforts with the different communities in the area who are expected to identify criminals and strange faces in their domains and report to relevant security operatives.
