Few hours after the release of the former petroleum Minister and elder statesman, Dr. Shettima Ali Monguno, the JTF in Borno state has said that its men had rescued the parents of a federal House reps member, representing Borno north, who were abducted at their resident, Ngamdu in Kaga local government area of Borno state.
Father of the federal legislator, Mallam Sanda Sheriff, 80 years of age told DailyPost in Maiduguri that he was abducted along with his wife, 70 years by some gunmen who force their way into their house in Ngamdu.
According to him, “when they bundled us into one of their vehicles from the house, the vehicle broke down and they burnt it, then they moved us into one of the car, a bus which they stole in our village and took us to a place where they change the vehicle. They were taking us to somewhere in the bush when they suddenly stopped the vehicle and took to their heels. After a while, we saw the soldiers who came to rescue us and they brought us here(JTF HQ)”.
He said the kidnappers took away all their money and were told that they were being kidnapped because of their son, who is a member of the house of representative. He said that, they held that he has not been helping his constituency since he was elected into the house.
Speaking to the JTF spokesman, Lt Col. Sagir Musa on the abduction of the parents of the legislator, pleaded that, the name of the said legislator should not be mentioned for security reason, but that the JTF has got in touch with the legislator who is making arrangement on how to received his parents from the JTF headquarters in Maiduguri.
