JTF hands over 18 oil thieves to EFCC

The Joint Task Force, JTF of 4th Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Benin has handed over 18 suspected oil thieves to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for further investigation and possible prosecution.


The suspects were arrested at different locations in series of operations between October 2012 and January 2013.


The command alleged that the suspects were arrested with different trucks, tankers, buses, cars, drums, jerry cans and pumping machines with which they transfer products and substance suspected to be adulterated kerosene and illegally refined automotive gas oil, AGO.

The suspects include Shedrack Ofosa, Mudia Owin, Ovie Joseph, Nnamdi Albert, John Abuja, Lucky Egbegbe, Andrew Anthony, James Aker, Kadiri Aloysius, Paul Ojo, Oduwere Edobor, Esene Osaghale, Abubakar Isah and Steven Omoghwigho. Others are Lucky Francis, Lucky Imuetinyan, Henry Ikweke, and Victor Ohweokeovwo; while Lucky Okorie, Dodo Mohammed, Bose Osaji were arrested in Warri and Benin  by the EFCC operatives in connection with the alleged offences.

The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.
