A man, simply identified as Babawo, believed to be the brain behind the attack on the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, has been arrested by the Joint Task Force (JTF), on Wednesday, February 6 at Dorayi, close to the old site of Bayero University Kano.

DailyPost gathered that Babawo afterwards led the JTF officials to two other suspects, one of them, an undergraduate who was also nabbed in connection with the attack.

It would be recalled that on Saturday, January 19, 2013, unknown gunmen attacked the convoy of the Emir of Kano, while on his way from an occasion, killing six persons and injuring others, including the Emir’s two sons.

Two days after the attack, security agents confirmed the arrest of a man who they claimed was a principal suspect and had been providing useful information about others involved in the attack.

With the new development, three suspects, considered to be active participants in the bloodletting, have so far been arrested.
