President Goodluck Jonathan has been told to forget Ebonyi State in the 2015 presidential election.

A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party in the State sent out this message at a press briefing in Abuja on Thursday.

According to the faction, the way and manner the Governor of the state, Chief Martin Elechi was imposing aspirants on the party in the state was capable of making people to vote against Jonathan.

The factional Chairman of the party in the state, Chief Mike Awo and members of his ‘executive’ claimed that since 2007 till date, party caucus as provided for in the PDP constitution has never been held in the state.

According to them, “During the last state congress, many of us show interest to contest for party positions but were not even allowed to obtain the nomination forms, let alone further our desire to contest the election.

“It may interest you to know that the party in Ebonyi State has gestalt compromised. The former state chairman was intimidated to resign and lave the way for a stooge who will do the bidding of the governor.

“From the foregoing it is now very obvious that if there is no intervention, PDP will die a natural death in that state chapter and the President stands the risk of losing election in Ebonyi State.”

It, however, alleged that “the way and manner the governor went about it in the state smirks of hate and political delinquency.”
