In what many would describe as ‘pay back time,’ President Goodluck Jonathan, Sunday shunned his ‘errand boy’ Gabriel Suswam of Benue State after he failed to show up at his 50th birthday bash.
It could be recalled that Governor Suswam was also missing at the President’s declaration ceremony, which took place at the Eagles Square, Abuja recently.
His absence at his ‘master’s’ declaration triggered the rumuor that the governor, who is vying for the senate in 2015, was on his way to the opposition party after he had noticed that his attempt to remove the incumbent, Barnabas Gemade would eventually hit the rocks.
Suswam had earlier announced that Jonathan would visit the state today for his 50th birthday celebration, but DailyPost observed that the President failed to show up at the event as he only sent his Chief of Staff to represent him at the event.
No reason was given for his absence, but insiders squealed that the relationship between the duo had gone sour lately following the insinuations that the governor was planning to defect to the APC should he fail to pick the ticket at the primary.
Suswam was forced to commission the Chapel of Grace Worship Centre himself after the president shunned his poorly attended event.
