Jonathan sacks FIRS boss

President Goodluck Jonathan has fired Kabiru Mashi as Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service. Mashi  has been immediately replaced by Samuel Ogungbesan.

Ogungbesan, until his appointment was a Coordinating Director at FIRS.

 Mashi  has been the acting Executive Chairman of FIRS since 2012.

A terse statement by the president on Tuesday says Ogungbesan’s appointment takes immediate effect.
