Reno Omokri, the former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has mocked Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi over embarrassment by an angry audience while he was attempting to reel out achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari.
DAILY POST reported that Amaechi was booed and shouted down by an angry audience for attempting to reel out the achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government during a town hall meeting/presidential debate organised by the Osasu Show Symposium in Abuja.
The drama ensued while Amaechi mocked the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar over his plan to privatise the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.
The audience booed him and shouted ‘sit down!’ ‘sit down!’ for as long as Amaechi tried to speak in praise of the government.
Overwhelmed by the apparent anti-Buhari chants, the Minister caved into the pressure and took his seat.
Reacting to the incident, Omokri took to his Twitter page warning that such embarrassment from Nigerians also awaited Buhari in February.
The former presidential spokesman, alongside a video of the incident wrote: “The way Nigerians publicly disgraced the potbellied Rotimi Amaechi, the Director General of the Buhari Campaign Organisation, is what awaits their boss Buhari at the polls next February.”
