The Lagos State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has described Governor Babatunde Fashola as a “day dreamer who unfortunately will continue in his falsehood and self deceit until the reality of election loss hits him and his party, tge All Progressives Congress APC, in February, 2015.
The PDP said this on Sunday in response to the statement credited to Governor Fashola that Nigerians need change at the central and must vote out the PDP in the general elections.
PDP in a rejoinder signed by its spokesman, Taofik Gani, noted that “in a busy body manner, Governor Fashola has abandoned his own burden to attend to an unsure ambition as it is more imminent that the change sought for will take place in Lagos State than at the central.
“Indeed, governor Fashola has created hatred for APC so much that lagosians are only waiting for election day to vote out APC in the State”
The party opines that whereas the campaign against President Goodkuck Jonathan is not issue based, the campaign against the APC in Lagos state are on the basis of betrayal of trust, non actual performance and humiliation of lagosians.
Substantiating the assertions, the party posits that Governor Fahola has only done well in propagandists governance and challenges the governor to showcase his achievements in areas like: low cost housing; affordable Education; good health care services; effective transportation.
“While Governor Fashola continues to blame President Jonathan for his obvious inadequacies, his counterpart in Akwa Ibom, Cross Rivers, Niger, Delta, Kastina to mention a few are implementing and completing landmark projects.
“Such include power generation, construction of airports, low cost and affordable housing, construction of world class stadia, free education, direct empowerment of citizens etc”.
In the opinion of the PDP, it is ironical that Fashola, who is the only governor living fat on many federal government legacies of: good roads and bridges, airports, seaports, higher institutions, hospitals among others, elected to be antagonistic of the Jonathan-led federal government.
“We want to also call Governor Fashola’s attention to the certainty that in spite the state getting at least 23b naira in the last 58 months, the state is still lacking in basic infrastructure with many to even end up as abandoned projects, just as the governor will leave office with an aggregate debt of 1.8trillion naira.
“Indeed this governor does not have a place in our hall of fame,” PDP said.
