The presidency on Friday gave President Goodluck Jonathan a pat on the back for a job well done, saying he has outperformed other leaders before him since the country’s independence in 1960.
It also added that though past leaders of the country did well within the circumstances they found themselves, none of them did half of what President Jonathan has achieved.
This was disclosed in Abuja by the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, during a four-day Public Affairs Forum to highlight the achievements of Jonathan’s administration.
Dr. Okupe regretted that the administration has actually not done much in selling the good works of the government to Nigerians.
The presidential aide said the Jonathan administration will be unleashing a catalogue of its achievements on Nigerians during campaigns for the president’s re-election. This, he said will convince Nigerians that the president remains the best option for the country.
“It is nonsense to say that the transformation agenda of Jonathan exists in the television. We have not spoken about what he has done. We are going to overwhelm Nigerians during the campaign”, he said.
Okupe appealed to Nigerians to disregard the devices of the opposition, saying they are all empty talks as there is nothing concrete they are going to do for Nigerians.
He said: “People say they are coming. They haven’t said what they will do. Jonathan’s own is ‘we have done this, we have done that.’ This election will be a no contest. We are telling the world what Jonathan has done. We will not stop until well beyond February.”
