Jonathan commiserates with Nwodo over wife’s death

Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan has condoled the former Minister of Information, Chief John Nwodo and his family over the death of his wife, Justice Regina Obiageli Nwodo, who died in a London hospital.

In a statement by the presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, President Jonathan said he commiserates with Nwodo On behalf of himself, his family, the Federal Government and people of Nigeria on the loss of his wife.

Until her death, Justice Nwodo was a Justice of the Court of Appeal.

The statement said “By her demise, your family has lost a dutiful wife and a devoted mother; Enugu State has lost one of her finest; our nation has lost an accomplished jurist and a veritable epitome of excellence in service. President Jonathan said

“As you mourn, I wish, on behalf of my family, the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to express our heartfelt commiseration with you at this time.

“May Almighty God grant her soul eternal rest, even as He succours you and imbues you with the strength to cope with the pain of this irredeemable loss”.
