The Jama’atu Nasir Islam, JNI, has urged Muslims to sustain the lessons embedded in the month of Ramadan fasting such as faith, sincerity, humility, giving amongst others for unity, peace and development of the country.
A statement issued on Monday in Kaduna by the Secretary-General of JNI, Dr. Khalid Abubakar Aliyu felicitating with Muslims on the Eid-El-Fitr, urged them to intensify prayers for the Ummah against all manners of misfortunes as well as for relief and succor to the economic challenges bedeviling the nation.
He called on Nigerian Muslims to cast their minds to the good virtues of the month of Ramadan and keep to its teachings all through, adding that, “As the Lord of Ramadan, is an and shall remain forever and ever the Lord of other months, above all, watches and keeps the records of our actions and I actions. More so, Muslims are reminded to keep to the ordinances of the Glorious Quaran, for their spiritual upliftment, peace and tranquility.
“Once more, Muslims are reminded of giving Zakatul-Fitr which preferably should be given out to the needy two days before the Eid-El-Fitr day or before the commencement of the Eid prayer.
“This, if done promptly, will assist the have-nots to celebrate the coming Sallah with the Muslim Ummah, despite the glaring economic challenges bedeviling the country.
“By and large, JNI wishes all Muslim faithful an accepted Ramadan fast and successful Eid-El-Fitr. In the same vein, Muslims are urged not to forget Sittah-Shawwal.”
