Jigawa NSCDC command records 102 criminal cases, others in three months

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp, NSCDD, Jigawa State command said it handled 788 cases within the first quarter of 2019.

This was stated in a press statement signed by the command public Relation officer SC Adamu Shehu issued to DAILY POST in Dutse.

He said that out of the 788 cases recorded for the period under review 102 cases were criminal while 686 were civil in nature.

Shehu explained that the 102 criminal cases include 32 theft, vandalization 4, burglary 11,fraud 5,larceny 2, cross indecency 7,Assault 3,forgery,resisting arrest 1,trespass 9,illicit Drugs 6,Race 4,Sodomy 7 and others 6.

He said 56 cases were convicted, 41 are pending while seven cases were handed over to relevant agencies for further action.

He, however, stated that 686 civil cases consist 79 disputes related cases, 280 indebtedness cases, 197 breach of commercial contracts, 35 land disputes, tenancy disputes 49 and others are 46 causes.

Shehu noted that 628 cases were resolved while 58 cases are still pending. He added that N5,977,020 were recorded and given back to the legitimate owners.

The command also assured commitment to protect the lives and properties of the citizens.
