Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has boasted of his party’s chances ahead of the November 26 election in Ondo State.
Akeredolu spoke on Monday after he was formally presented to President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Akeredolu was led to the President by Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State, who is also the chairman of the APC campaign committee for Ondo election.
Speaking briefly, Akeredolu said he would have been happier to “face both Eyitayo Jegede and Ibrahim as PDP candidate and running mate at the election”.
Jegede and Ibrahim were produced by the Ahmed Makarfi and Ali Modi Sheriff factions of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Continuing, Aketi as fondly called, stressed that he was not bothered about who would eventually fly the PDP flag at the election.
“We know that we are going to win this election and I have no doubt”, he declared.
Meanwhile, the Aketi Campaign Organisation has called on the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and other security agencies to provide adequate security before, during and after the Ondo governorship poll.
A member of the team, Mr. Kunle Adebayo, said the call became necessary because the PDP had allowed its internal crisis to lead to violence in the state.
