The senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, on Thursday reacted to Federal Government’s reduction of the cost of application forms for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB.
Recall that the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, had yesterday announced the reduction of fee after the Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting.
According to Adamu, the JAMB fee for the UTME was reduced from N5,000 to N3,500, the Senior Secondary School fee charged by NECO was reduced from N11,350 to N9,850 and the Basic Education Certificate by NECO has been slashed from N5,500 to N4,000.
Reacting to the development, Sani said the reduction will ease the pains of millions of parents and applicants.
In a tweet, Sani wrote: “The reduction in JAMB and NECO fees by the FG is commendable. It will ease the pains of millions of parents and applicants. The astronomical rise in revenue in Jamb is a major achievement. Kudos to the registrar. Now Jamb is free of larcenous pythons and anacondas.”
