JAMB: Borno Gov, Shettima invites Galadima Zakari, 2018 UTME best candidate

Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State has invited an indigene of the state, Galadima Zakari, the Joint Admissions Matriculation Board, JAMB, best overall candidate at the 2018 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.

He confirmed this on his Twitter page Monday night.

The governor tweeted: “It will be my greatest honour to host Nigeria’s JAMB King, Galadima Israel Zakari and his mother in my office.

“Galadima is that young Bornoan (from Biu local government area) who has made us very proud by coming first nationwide after scoring 364 in the 2018 JAMB examination.

“This great son of Borno deserves to be celebrated.”

Galadima Zakari led the top best seven candidates, according to an official release by JAMB.

The exam body explained that the announcement became necessary as a means of making data for research, reportage and other national disposition available.

Head of Media and Publicity, Dr Fabian Benjamin, in the statement, said Zakari, who sat for the exam in Ogun State, emerged as the best with a score of 364.

The top four candidates are: Zakari with 364; Adekunle Jesufemi from Ogun who sat for the examination in Abeokuta with 358; Alikah Oseghale from Edo who sat for the examination in Ekpoma with 357 and Ademola Adetola from Ogun who sat for the examination in Lagos with 355.

JAMB added that Akinyemi Paul from Ogun, Ape Moses from Benue, and Obi-Obuoha Abiamamela from Rivers all came fifth with a tie score of 354 to complete the top seven.
