Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ola Ibrahim, has described as “shocking”, Sunday’s attack at St. Andrews Protestant Church of the Jaji Military Cantonment.
The two suicide bombings on the heavily fortified facility, killed at least ten people and injured many others, mostly worshipers.
Ibrahim who spoke on Tuesday during a visit to the scene said an investigation has commenced, adding that “That will determine the next line of action by the Defence Headquarters in the next few days.”
Sources say the Army heirachy was rattled about how the assailants beat all security checks before detonating the bombs.
The embarrassing attack seen as an affront on the nation’s military, was carried out barely 72 hours after the Joint Task Force placed a N290m bounty on the heads of 19 Boko Haram leaders.
Meanwhile, four victims who were on admission in hospitals reportedly died on Monday.
This was disclosed by the Commandant of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji, Abdullahi Kure, when Governor Patrick Yakowa of Kaduna State visited the cantonment.
Kure further stated that the death toll from the blast now stands at 15.
