Iwobi explains why he calls Ozil “my boss”

Arsenal forward, Alex Iwobi, has explained why he calls his team-mate, Mesut Ozil, “my boss”.

According to the Super Eagles star, he refers to Ozil with the nickname, as praise for his creativity.

The German playmaker set up Iwobi for his first ever goal in the Champions League on Tuesday night, in their 4-1 win at Basel.

“I have to call him [Ozil] ‘my boss’ because he assisted me,” Iwobi told  The Guardian.

Speaking on his impressive career with the Gunners so far, the 20-year-old said: “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

“When I sit down and actually think about what I have done, to score in the Under-19s a year ago and then to score my first Champions League goal for the senior team is mad.”

Iwobi however admits he has to keep a cool head, despite his quick rise to prominence.

“As a young kid earning so much, having a house and driving a nice car it is nice but it is something I keep level-headed about,” he added.
