The Italian Government on Tuesday deported 40 Nigerians.
They arrived on an Air Meridiana flight with registration number E1_FNU at around 8 p.m.
The deportees were received by officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) who profiled them along with other security agencies at the airport.
Officials also gave the returnees stipend to facilitate their transportation to their respective states.
One of them was deported for allegedly carrying drugs while the remaining 39 were repatriated over immigration related offences.
The Italian Government had on March 8 deported 37 Nigerians from the country for similar reasons.
Similarly, the United Kingdom, four days ago,deported 23 Nigerians for committing immigration-related offences in the country.
The deportees, all males, were brought back in a chartered aircraft.
