Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday told his Facebook friends about a new book that would soon be released from his media office.

The Turaki Adamawa who had a rift with his former boss, Olusegun Obasanjo, over issues bordering on contracts and succession, in a statement said, “In light of the release of the book titled, Atiku Media Office: The Wars, The victories, authored by my media office staff, I would like urge you to be patient as I complete my own account of stewardship in government in the dramatic eight-year tenure along with President Obasanjo in the Aso Rock.”

He added that the new book was the opinion of members of his media office and based on their experiences, while he was in office.

“As principal actors and witnesses to a very interesting period in the political history of our country, it is not at all unexpected that these staff members have their stories to tell concerning the events of that period. It is our belief that such renditions of historically important events and occurrences should be encouraged for the public to be better informed.”

Atiku concluded by pointing out that, “the book contains the media office’s recollections of those events, and that my own will sooner than later be completed and released.”

The former customs chief contested the 2007 presidential election on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria in 2007 and came third.

In 2011, Atiku sought to fly the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) flag in the general elections, but lost to incumbent President, Goodluck Jonathan who recorded a resounding victory during the primaries.
