Boca Juniors have announced that Carlos Tevez has left Juventus and sealed a return to the club.
The Argentine club tweeted the message from their official account, which read: “#TevezReturnsHome. It’s a reality. It’s official: Carlos Tevez returns to Boca”.
Tevez joined Boca Juniors’ youth team in 1997 and spent three years with the senior team, winning the Copa Sudamericana and Libertadores. He then left for Brazilian club Corinthians in 2005, from where he sealed a controversial transfer to West Ham.
The striker also played for both Manchester United and Manchester City, before he left for Juventus in 2013. He won the Serie A two successive times under Antonio Conte and Massimiliano Allegri. Last season, he scored 29 times as Juve won the Serie A, Coppa Italia and missed out on a Treble after they were beaten 3-1 by Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League final.
Boca president Daniel Angelici said: “It is a day of joy and great satisfaction.
“The return of Carlos Tevez in an extraordinary moment of his career is fantastic news for all partners and supporters of Boca and Argentine football.
“The presence of Carlos will give another leap in quality to the great squad we have.”
